So, start by making the dough for your Adaptogenic Moon Balls by thoroughly mixing the ingredients in a high-speed food processor. This recipe makes about 8 balls. Place them on a parchment paper-lined tray and freeze until firm.
Make the glaze by whisking all the ingredients except the matcha and pitaya. When the mixture is smooth divide it into two separate bowls. Add the matcha powder to one for a lovely green and the pitaya powder to the other for a pretty pink glaze.
Anxiety takes a lot of joy out of life, don’t you think? Many of us worry that we won’t be able to do something new. If this is the first time you’re making these Adaptogenic Moon Balls, you might think that you’ll battle to get the glaze coating just right, but you’ll find that this isn’t difficult at all.
There’s no clever trick to learn. Simply dunk each ball into the glaze and move around until fully coated. Return them to your parchment-lined tray. The glaze should harden almost immediately. If it doesn’t, don’t panic. Just place the tray back into the freezer, and your moon balls will soon have a lovely glaze coat.
Your Adaptogenic Moon Balls will already look mouth-watering, but you can add even more temptation with a decoration of drizzled chocolate and a sprinkle of pistachios.

Stress-Relieving Adaptogenic Moon Balls

For the balls
- 1/3 cup Medjool dates, pitted
- 1 cup raw walnuts
- ½ cup gluten-free oats
- 1 tsp vanilla bean essence
- 1 satchel Foursigmatic Lion’s Mane Elixir (8 oz)
- ½ tsp Maca powder
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1/8 tsp salt
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 Tbsp macadamia butter (or any nut butter)
For the glaze:
- 2 Tbsp coconut cream
- 3 Tbsp coconut oil, melted (needs to be liquified)
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp Matcha powder
- 1 tsp Pink Pitaya powder
For the decoration: (optional)
- 3 Tbsp dairy-free chocolate
- 2 Tbsp, pistachios, diced
- To make the balls, add all ingredients to a high-speed food processor and process until dough forms and all ingredients are well mixed.
- Form into about 8 balls of about 1 Tablespoon each. Place on parchment paper lined tray and freeze for about an hour until firm.
- Once the balls are firm, make the glaze. For the glaze, place all ingredients (except the Matcha and pitaya powder) in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Divide the mixture into two separate smaller bowls and add the matcha powder to one and the pitaya powder to the other bowl. Whisk to combine.
- Dunk each ball in the glaze (I alternated between green and pink) and move around until fully coated and return to the parchment-lined tray. The glaze should harden almost immediately since the donuts will be cold. If the glaze doesn’t harden because you are in a warm climate, place tray back into the freezer to harden.
- For the decoration, melt the chocolate and drizzle over the balls. Sprinkle with pistachios and place back in the freezer to harden.
- Once hardened, store in airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
